Friends of the JCC

The “J” recently began a new annual giving program that will highlight the many families, individuals, companies and foundations that provide financial support to the center annually. In this kick-off year the campaign will be chaired by long-time supporters Gary Cohen and Holly Shenitzer.

“There are so many people who make gifts above and beyond their annual membership that we wanted to create a program that will recognize that generosity in a public way,” says Julia Waterfall-Kanter, Director of Development who is staffing the program. “From local businesses that sponsor our basketball leagues to individuals who provide funds for the JCC scholarship fund, we want to show our appreciation for those contributions.”

At the same time we hope more of our members will come to realize the importance of this kind of “above and beyond” support so that we can increase the funds available for our programs and services and, most importantly, provide more scholarships to community members.

You may be considering making a tax-deductible gift to the JCC or another non-profit group. It isn’t always easy to decide which agency you want to support as so many are making a difference in our community. It is about shared values and a vision for the future. If you believe that the Tucson community needs a strong and vibrant home for all walks of Jewish life, become a “Friend.” If you believe in what we do and why we do it, become a “Friend.”
