Voices & Visions
May 19 – July 6
Free and open to the public
In 2012, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation released its first series of Voices and Visions posters, which is described by the organization as “a collection of 18 images in which the series pairs leading figures of contemporary art and design with powerful quotes from Jewish thinkers across the ages. Originally offered as a limited release, the Masters Series took off and is now being used by Jewish organizations around the world. ”
The Tucson J is thrilled to present both the Masters Series and the more recent Proudly Jewish posters, along with their commentary. We invite you to take some time to explore them and contribute to the prayer loom that hangs on the wall as well!
Monsters Under the Bed – Works on Paper by Curt Kiwak
July 8 – Sept. 6
Artist’s reception Sunday, August 28, 2 – 4 pm
Curt treats the blank page as a mini-theater, a place where narratives unfold as a drawing takes shape. From a group of random forms, what once appeared to be a pillow on a bed may prove to be a valiant knight, saving a child from monsters.
