A MAD Evening with Mary-Lou Weisman

Award-winning journalist and author, Mary-Lou Weisman, discusses her recently completed biography of renowned MAD Magazine cartoonist, Al Jaffee. Al Jaffee’s MAD Life recounts the absurd and implausible tale of how, in 1927, when many Jews were fleeing Europe if they could, Jaffee’s mother uprooted her children from their middle-class lives in Savannah, Georgia, and returned to the Lithuanian shtetl of her birth.

Weisman shares the sometimes startling results uncovered by her research, as well as her insights into alienation and the sources of Jewish humor. Autographed copies of her book will be available for purchase.

Sunday, April 15th 1:00 p.m. Auditorium
