New Works from Broken Glass Gallery Opening

1:30 to 4:30 pm: Meet presenting artists & take a reflective walk in The J’s Ballroom through Robert Wertz’ mandala, “Kristallnacht: Shattered, Yet Unbroken” (pictured below).
1:30 pm to 2:00 pm: The Art of Immigration Talk with Lynn Rae Lowe
Follow the path of art from Eastern Europe to Paris to New York City in an engaging slide show presentation.
2 :00 pm to 2:30 pm: Adult Jewish Community Choir Performance
Enjoy the sounds of beautiful and reflective music.
2:30 pm to 3:00 pm: Listen to Survivor Stories
Different Shoah survivors will tell parts of their stories. Books will be available for purchase.
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm: “Under Midwestern Stars” Reading
Esther Blumenfeld’s Under Midwestern Stars is the story of Jewish immigrants building a new life in the heartland of America. The world premier for Under Midwestern Stars was in Kansas. As relevant today as when it was originally penned, this Under Midwestern Stars reading will be the first performance of the Jewish Community Theater of Tucson. Limited seating is available. Doors will open at 3:00pm and the reading will begin promptly at 3:15pm.
