Syrian Refugee Led Syrian Cuisine Cooking Series

Sunday, October 8: Syrian Desserts , Noon – 3 pm
Shahd will lead a lesson on Syrian desserts, including baklava; atayif – Syrian pancakes; and kunafeh (knafeh) a pastry made from pistachios.
Shahd Baeij, a Syrian refugee, will teach you to make Syrian delicacies as well as a sampling of her signature recipes. Chef Shahd’s single-session cooking classes at The J have been featured on Tucson’s own Fox 11 News and AZPM’s Arizona Spotlight. Co-hosted with the International Rescue Committee in Tucson. The recipes will be kosher and vegetarian.
