The Tucson J Sarver Tennis Center and The J offer:

Because of the mild winter temperatures in Tucson, we offer classes all year round.

We offer personal lessons with anyone of our Tennis Instructors whose Bio’s and credentials are below.

For a fee, we also offer year-round tennis classes:

  • 20 hours of weekly adult tennis via 11 different adult clinics, drill & plays, team practices and academies.
  • 15 hours of weekly junior tennis via 7 different junior clinics and academies.

Adult Beginners | AM The perfect class for the beginner tennis player, with a focus on the fundamentals of tennis play. Combines instruction and play while emphasizing the fun and social aspects of tennis.

This program offers a chance to combine instruction and drills. Our high performance coaching includes fitness training, progressive development of physical, tactical, technical and mental skills combined with appropriate competitive play, vital in the development of players. A great clinic for adults who are at, or are looking to take their games to the tournament level. For competitive players only. If not able to make every day, drop in available.

Ladies’ Cardio Tennis Cardio Tennis

Cardio Tennis is a fun, group activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high-energy workout. A variety of fast–paced drills covering all strokes, with an emphasis on footwork.

FALL Junior Tennis

 

 Tiny Tots | Ages 3–4

A new introductory tennis program for our youngest players! This program incorporates athletic skill development in addition to basic tennis shapes. In this stage of a child’s development, mastery helps set the right course for all future sports training.

Mighty Mites | Ages 4-6

Players are introduced to the fundamentals of tennis through activities designed to build a solid foundation for long–term athletic development. Activities are focused on developing the ABCs (agility, balance and coordination) while forming the skills necessary to serve, rally and score. Use of red foam and felt balls.

Junior Beginners | Ages 7–13 Designed to help students enjoy this life-long sport by learning the fundamentals.  Each class has a weekly theme reinforced through drills, games and competitions that promote the fun of learning to play the sport. Junior Advanced Beginners | Ages 8–13

For children who already have a good sense of the proper tennis technique and are beginning to develop control with ball placement, spin control and all court skills. Technical, tactical themes will be presented daily. Players in this level are able to play matches.

Teens | Ages 13–18

Junior Tennis Academy | Ages 10–18

An advanced tennis clinic for players with the potential or strong desire to play competitive matches. The class reinforces the individual player’s solid technical base with a daily emphasis on grips, strokes and tactical and technical skills. Focus is on preparation for tournaments and playing at the High School level.

Chuck Reisig

With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Chuck sets the standard for other pros through his commitment to the tennis teaching profession and continuing education. His coaching philosophy puts the athlete first and winning second. Sasha Cooke
Head Squash and Assistant Tennis Professional

Sasha Cooke has taught squash for over three decades. He has been an assistant coach at Yale, and head coach at Trinity College, Wesleyan University and St Lawrence University. He has taught lessons and junior clinics at the New Haven Lawn Club, the Piping Rock Club and the Union Club in NYC. In the 1980’s he was ranked among the top 10 U.S. professional players. Many of his junior players have gone on to play successfully at the college level, and many of his top college players he introduced to the game. Dalton has been instructing summer camps and Junior Tennis Clinics for 4 years. Dalton Played # 1 Doubles and #2 Singles for Pima Community College this past year. Dalton Also played a major role in Catalina Foothills winning 2 State Team Championships in Men’s Tennis and also won the State Championship in individual Doubles his senior year.

Kisah Dan Chin
Tennis Pro

Kisah is a full-time tennis pro with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. During his time with Flower Valley Bath & Racquet Club, he took the junior team to 2 championships, as well as numerous individual personal trophies. He also trained at the College Park Tennis Club, formerly known as the Tennis Center at College Park, where numerous top juniors in the country arose. During this time, he also gave instruction to underserviced communities in the Washington D.C. metro area and derives tremendous joy in working with enthusiastic learners.
