Because of the mild winter temperatures in Tucson, we offer classes all year round. Check below for all classes!

Tennis Program Information

For a fee we offer classes and clinics to help beginners to advanced players. We also offer personal lessons with anyone of our Tennis Instructors whose Bio’s and credentials are below. Pick up a brochure at the Wellness Desk with class and instructor information. We also have Mens and Ladies Teams that compete in USTA and interclub leagues.

Adult Beginners | Tennis AM New Day-Thursdays, 8–9 am

The perfect class for the beginner tennis player, with a focus on the fundamentals of tennis play. Combines instruction and play while emphasizing the fun and social aspects of tennis.

Adult Beginners |Tennis PM-Wednesdays, 6:30–7:30 pm 

The perfect class for the beginner tennis player, with a focus on the fundamentals of tennis play. Combines instruction and play while emphasizing the fun and social aspects of tennis.

Adult Advanced Beginners | Tennis AM New Day-Thursdays, 8–9 am

For the advanced beginning player that is familiar with most of the strokes, or the returning player needing a quick refresher, this class is geared toward rapid stroke improvement and preparation for match play.

Tennis PM | Adult Advanced Beginners, Tuesdays, 6:30–7:30 pm

For the advanced beginning player that is familiar with most of the strokes, or the returning player needing a quick refresher, this class is geared toward rapid stroke improvement and preparation for match play.

Intermediate Drill and Play 2.0–3.0 Tennis, Tuesdays, 7:30–9 am

This program combines instruction and play while emphasizing the fun and social aspects of tennis. It is only for those who feel comfortable enough to play matches, and is the next step after advanced beginners or those just getting back on the court.

Ladies’ Team Practice Tennis, Wednesdays, 8–9:30 am

This clinic is for ladies looking to play, or are playing ladies inter-club or USTA leagues. Ability level 3.0–4.5. We offer serious tennis players a chance to combine instruction and drills specifically designed for match competition preparation.

Senior Drill & Play 3.0–4.0 Tennis, Thursdays, 8–9:30 am

Combines stroke technique, drills, strategy and play in a fun fast-paced format.

Core Tennis Academy | Advanced Adults, Mon, Tues, Wed, 5:30–7 pm

This program offers a chance to combine instruction and drills. Our high performance coaching includes fitness training, progressive development of physical, tactical, technical and mental skills combined with appropriate competitive play, vital in the development of players. A great clinic for adults who are at, or are looking to take their games to the tournament level. For competitive players only. If not able to make every day, drop in available.

Ladies’ Cardio Tennis Cardio Tennis- Fridays, 7:30–9 am

Cardio Tennis is a fun, group activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high-energy workout. A variety of fast–paced drills covering all strokes, with an emphasis on footwork.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Tiny Tots Tennis | Ages 3–4, Wednesdays, 3:15 – 4 pm

A new introductory tennis program for our youngest future players! This program incorporates athletic skill development in addition to basic tennis shapes. In this stage of a child’s development, mastery helps set the right course for all future sports training.

Mighty Mites Tennis | Ages 4-6, Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15 pm

Players are introduced to the fundamentals of tennis through activities designed to build a solid foundation for long–term athletic development. Activities are focused on developing the ABCs (agility, balance and coordination) while forming the skills necessary to serve, rally and score. Use of red foam and felt balls.

Junior Beginners Tennis | Ages 7–13, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:15 – 5:15 pm
Designed to help students enjoy this life-long sport by learning the fundamentals.  Each class has a weekly theme reinforced through drills, games and competitions that promote the fun of learning to play the sport.

Junior Advanced Beginners Tennis | Ages 8–13, Tues and Thurs, 5:15–6:15 pm

For children who already have a good sense of the proper tennis technique and are beginning to develop control with ball placement, spin control and all court skills. Technical, tactical themes will be presented daily. Players in this level are able to play matches.

Teen Tennis | Ages 13–18, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:15–6:15 pm

For teens who want to become better recreational tennis players. The class teaches the fundamentals of grips, strokes and footwork patterns in a fun and positive manner so that teens will enjoy the sport more as their ability improves.

Junior Tennis Academy | Ages 10–18, Mon, and Wed 5:15–6:30 pm, Fri, 4:45–6 pm

An advanced tennis clinic for players with the potential or strong desire to play competitive matches. The class reinforces the individual player’s solid technical base with a daily emphasis on grips, strokes and tactical and technical skills. Focus is on preparation for tournaments and playing at the High School level.

With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Chuck sets the standard for other pros through his commitment to the tennis teaching profession and continuing education. His coaching philosophy puts the athlete first and winning second. Sasha Cooke
Head Squash and Assistant Tennis Professional

Sasha Cooke has taught squash for over three decades. He has been an assistant coach at Yale, and head coach at Trinity College, Wesleyan University and St Lawrence University. He has taught lessons and junior clinics at the New Haven Lawn Club, the Piping Rock Club and the Union Club in NYC. In the 1980’s he was ranked among the top 10 U.S. professional players. Many of his junior players have gone on to play successfully at the college level, and many of his top college players he introduced to the game. Dalton has been instructing summer camps and Junior Tennis Clinics for 4 years. Dalton Played # 1 Doubles and #2 Singles for Pima Community College this past year. Dalton Also played a major role in Catalina Foothills winning 2 State Team Championships in Men’s Tennis and also won the State Championship in individual Doubles his senior year.
